Paint. Plant. Preserve. Join us on this community work day to learn more about ‘Ewa Villages history and to preserve this plantation-era community. We will be collecting oral histories from ‘Ewa Villages residents while also refurbishing artifacts from the old mill on Renton Road.

“The O‘ahu Railway and Land Company (OR&L) started out in 1888 transporting freight and passengers between Honolulu and Aiea, later expanding in phases to Waianae, around Kaena Point to Mokuleia and, finally, to Kahuku. A second line later ran through central O‘ ahu, between Wahiawa and Haleiwa. It also had a war-time role serving the military.
This fascinating presentation by Jeff Livingston, historian and director of the OR & L Hawaiian Railroad Society, will bring to life the 58-year history of OR&L. Organized by Ewa Villages Historical Society.” - Hawaiʻi State Public Library System
